I am working with a client who need 6 people to start immediately, based in the North West, selling investment opportunities over the phone from warm leads – NO COLD CALLING!

No experience in this business is needed, but you must be able to communicate over the phone, have a friendly manner, be willing to learn, be tenacious, with a desire to be successful in a very lucrative business.

A decent basic along with uncapped commission means the right people could be earning anything from £50 – £60,000 within the first year, even more for the high flyers.

Training will be given, and you will be working as part of an already successful and friendly team focused on achieving.

Car Sales down 20%! What are YOU going to do about it?

Yes, recent figures released show that New Car Sales Registrations were down by 20% in April this year as against 2016 according to SMMT.

That’s quite a drop! By what I’m hearing in the trade May doesn’t look to be faring much better for new car sales.

So, as a car dealership or a car sales person, what are you going to do about it?

It’s raining, kids are off school, Brexit, the Election!!

Well , you could bemoan the fact that everybody is worrying about Brexit so just hanging on to their money until they see what happens. You could blame it on the weather, the school holidays, the football, the election, the manufacturers advertising, your Manager, your targets, so on and so forth. The list goes on and on of all the things you could find to blame.

OR you could decide you are not going to get “Negged” out by all this stuff going on around you and decide you are going to do something about it.

At times like these you need to get a grip on yourself to begin with. If you keep telling yourself how bad the car sales job is, how nobody is buying cars now, how your bosses are being unreasonable, how there’s no money to be made any more –

Guess What? All of these things are going to happen. They will come true and you will have made them come true in your life and in your dealership.

Even though car sales were down in April, there were still over 152,00 new cars sold (Figures from SMMT Vehicle Data)

People STILL bought new cars!

People are still buying cars! Are you good enough to sell them one?

The people who sold those cars didn’t allow all the negative news and comments effect them. They still believed that people were buying cars and that they were going to buy those cars from them!

 Those car sales people didn’t just sit back and wait for the customers to turn up, they thought “Outside the Box” to figure out ways of finding those people that were planning to buy a car in April.

When they received a phone enquiry, an Internet enquiry or an email, they made sure they turned that enquiry into a live prospect who came into their showroom. When they had someone come to the dealership they were treated like Royalty. Nothing was too much trouble. They took the time to find out what the customer’s requirements were and made sure they were looking at the right car to satisfy those needs. No corners were cut!

By going through the whole process in a professional manner, keeping control of the “Customer Journey”, handling objections correctly and simply doing the job the way it’s supposed to be done, THEY CONTINUED TO SELL CARS while the “Order Takers” were the ones who suffered from that 20% drop in sales.

What is SELLING?

If you ask 100 people this question, my guess is you could get 100 different answers!

Some say it is about making products available for people to buy; convincing people to but something they don’t really need or want; the act of persuading people to buy something plus a host of other ideas.

Searching the Internet, the definition I liked the most was “To persuade (another) to recognize the worth or desirability of something”. But even that doesn’t really get to the real definition of Selling.

To me selling is all about providing a solution to a need or requirement and then adding value to that solution to ensure you get the customers business.

For example,  somebody needs something to put on their feet to protect them from the elements. They go to a shop where someone can sell them a pair of shoes. Logically, they don’t need anything fancy. A basic plain pair of shoes or boots that will protect their feet is all that is required to solve their problem or need.

The real art of selling comes into play, when a sales person can demonstrate a pair of shoes that not only protect their feet, but will also last longer than the basic ones, look better and be more comfortable. Once the customer has fallen in love with these great shoes, then the price is revealed, a price that is higher than the basic pair.

Then the customer has to make the decision. Logic dictates that they go for the cheaper plain shoes that will satisfy their needs and solve the problem of having protection for their feet.

But then the Emotion kicks in! These shoes are going to last longer, look good and make the wearer feel great. What do you think the decision will be?

A good salesperson understands how we make all our decisions and choices in life based on, not just Logic but also Emotion. Understanding that fact and knowing how to build on Emotion, whilst not ignoring Logic sets the good Sales People apart from the Order Takers!

So Why Should Customers Buy From You?

No matter what products you are selling, be it Cars, Caravans, Vans, Clothes, Computers, Insurance, Finance etc. you can be sure there is someone else selling pretty much the same thing. They might even be selling it cheaper than you!!

If you think about it, there’s more to it than just price. If that were the case everybody would be buying stuff at the same place – wherever was the cheapest?

There is far more to the customer buying choice than just price. There is a lot of Emotion involved in making those decisions.

If you can build up a relationship with your customer where they, not only like you, but feel they can trust you, then you have great chance of doing business with them.

How you build that trust in a short space of time is the key to success and the mark of a good salesperson!!
